I study both the old masters and the Modernists. My favorite artist and biggest influence is Joseph Cornell. He made intricate shadow boxes from which I sometimes derive my imagery.
I decided a long time ago that I would make art with positive messages and overtones. I prefer to work with the fanciful.
I hold a B.F.A. in Printmaking with a minor in drawing from the Pennsylvania State University . Also included in my education are 52 Graduate Credits from the University of the Arts. I taught art at Merchantville School for 23 years, including 1year as Artist-in-Residence . I taught studio classes at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 5 years. I was Curator of the Mummer’s Museum and taught Art History and Painting at Holy Family University.
My work has been shown in many local galleries, in Philadelphia, in the surrounding communities and in California. I have been in many group shows, invitationals, and juried exhibitions. Some of these include Eilandarts, the DaVinci Art Alliance, the 13 North Gallery, the Please Touch Museum, the Woodmere Art Museum, the Plastic Together with another artist, I’ve done several two person shows. I have won prizes for my work and been appreciated. For this I am grateful.
