Artist Bio:
My primary work has been in the area of sculpture : welded steel, mixed media constructions, small boxes in the style of Joseph Cornell, hydrocal bas- reliefs, and sculptural encaustic pieces. I believe that one of the primary reasons for creating art, aside from the experience of the process itself is making contact with the viewer. Another motivation is the desire to express a unique vision of the world. The content of my work is the expression of the unseen order of things in the tangible world, life forces, apparent and hidden; the flow of life, the uniqueness / sameness of objects ,and the passage of time, including memory, history, myth and tradition ; loss / repair, including salvage and renewal of discarded objects; evidence of human contact, the subdued joy in the relationship of people and things, the truth of objects and people and the evidence of desire in all things in the natural world. |
